Microwave: Place one khichiya on a microwave-safe plate that accommodates it. Heat in short bursts, checking between bursts, until crisp. Timing varies with microwave power; stop if it begins to scorch and let it cool briefly before handling.

Dry-roast: Roast over low-to-medium heat. Turn frequently for even roasting and remove when crisp, before it burns. Let it cool briefly before serving.
